Glimmer is a safe and secure network for social and environmental sustainability awareness and action. As a female-led, Australian impact startup, everything we do and plan to do is founded on our belief that we need to be kinder—to each other and our planet.

We’re a community of Well-wishers sharing content that inspires and empowers people to make a positive difference in the everyday lives of others.

As global citizens, we all have a valuable role to play in improving the health and well-being of people—current and future generations—and the well-being of our planet, on which all life depends. And because human-related activities have caused the climate emergency, we all need to be part of the solution to help regenerate and better protect our planet. Being kinder to our planet is key to our survival.

Glimmer provides a platform to showcase the good and often-unheard stories and actions of individuals, communities, businesses, and organisations.

There is a growing number of like-minded people who are making positive lifestyle choices for a more sustainable future.    

Those striving to improve the health and well-being of society and our planet through humanitarian efforts, better sustainability practices, robust climate change policies, and climate action.

We proudly support and amplify the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for a better world.

Therefore, at Glimmer, one of our core goals is to amplify the importance of sustainability with integrity.

We are committed to making our mobile application and web version usable and easily accessible by everyone because we are all differently abled. We strive to achieve this by complying with the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

Device configuration and assistive technology support

Glimmer’s mobile application and web version are currently striving to create flexible use on supporting devices. For example, you can enjoy Glimmer’s web version on desktop computers and portable web-enabled devices like iOS and smart phones.

Depending on the type of device you use, you can also modify your device to suit your individual needs, such as making text larger, increasing contrast, and dark mode.

Assistive technologies

We are striving to integrate assistance technologies into both our mobile application and the web version of the application.

Captions

We are working hard to ensure that people with limited hearing will have access to captions to understand dialogue and important sounds in video and audio.

Limitations of this application’s accessibility

While we’re working hard to ensure this site is accessible, you may still find some limitations.

• We always aim to communicate clearly and as plainly as possible. However, this is not always possible, especially when discussing technical subjects.
• Many Glimmer posts have rich media like audio and video that won’t be captioned yet.
• Some of Glimmer’s content has not yet been completely tested by people with diverse abilities.
• Some images may not contain alt-text
