Glimmer is a purpose-driven platform for a like-minded community of people, businesses and organisations to collaborate on social and environmental sustainability. Glimmer focuses on providing a safe online place for you to connect and share your authentic self with family and friends. Glimmer distinguishes itself by putting the experience of the well-wisher (user) first.
2. What is Glimmer’s mission?
To inspire and empower—to take better care of ourselves, each other, and the planet we live on by supporting responsible and ethical online communication and collaboration.
3. What is a well-wisher?
A well-wisher is a user of Glimmer—we believe that everyone wishes the best for the next person and by referring to a user as a well-wisher, we fundamentally encourage positive and wholesome interactions.
4. What is a ‘Glow’?
A glow is a positive reaction to a post. The well-wisher chooses the most appropriate icon to react to a post, which can be Love, Thank You, Celebrate, or Inspired.
5. How is Glimmer funded?
Glimmer provides a unique promoted service to businesses, media business, organisations, not-for-profit, governmental, non-governmental, and charity organisations that are interested in highlighting their SES activities and the positive impacts that their businesses have in society and on the environment. These posts are for information purposes only and are not targeted at any Well-wisher for commercial solicitation.
6. What is an SES Account?
An SES account is a Social and Environmental Sustainability business account with free and paid subscription options. This account is created by a Well-wisher who represents a business. The business shares information on their social and environmental sustainability activities and ongoing commitment on Glimmer. This provides a unique platform for businesses to come together and create awareness of the positive impacts of business on society and the environment.
7. What is an MediaPub Account?
A MediaPub account is a specific business account for media and publications business. This account is created by a Well-wisher who represents the business. The MediaPub account shares news updates and related latest information on social and environmental sustainability. This provides a unique platform for these business to publish credible sustainability news on a sustainability-dedicated platform.
8. Does Glimmer sell my personal information and data?
No, Glimmer does not sell any of your personal information or data from your activities, interactions, and/or interests to other business whatsoever.
9. How do I report a post?
You can easily report a post by clicking on the three dots on the right-hand side of the post that you feel is inappropriate and/or violates our Community Guidelines. Alternatively, you can contact Glimmer at support@glimmerworld.com. If you are dissatisfied with how Glimmer has handled your query, then you can contact the eSafety Commissioner via https://www.esafety.gov.au/report
10. How do I mute or delete a post?
Click on the three dots on the right-hand side of your post and select the option that applies.
11. How do I edit a post?
Click on the three dots on the right-hand side of your post and select edit. You will be taken to the Edit Post page where you can make the necessary changes and when complete, click on Post.
