Definitions

Well-wisher: We refer to a user of our app as a Well-wisher, which means a person who wishes well for another person or cause.
Glows: Reactions – Glimmer Reactions are a group of icon expressions that provide an easy way for Well-wishers and business account holders to express themselves in the form of a quick response to a post. Tap and hold the Love icon to reveal the group of other reaction options: Thank you, Celebrate and Inspired.
Glowing: In Glimmer, the word Glowing means ‘Trending’, like the use in general digital platforms. It is a post, comment or topic that becomes popular through increased in-app interactions and is mentioned at a higher rate than others.
Glowboard - Glowboards are promoted posts offered to businesses and organisations to publicise their social and environmental sustainability content. Glowboard content appears directly in the Glimmer feed of Well-wishers. Promoted posts are presented in different layouts and can take the form of text, single image, video, and carousel images and/videos. They may also contain a web link to a different landing page outside of Glimmer.
SES Account – An SES (Social and Environmental Sustainability) Account is a business account that participates in posting promoted content. The promoted posts will inform and educate Well-wishers about the business or organisation's social and environmental initiatives and ongoing commitment to reducing their carbon footprint and protecting the planet.
MediaPub Account – A business account for media and publications business to post trusted sustainability-related news and information.
Boostboard –Boostboards are promoted posts offered to businesses and organisations to boost their social and environmental sustainability content to a wider audience. Boostboard content appears directly in the Glimmer feed of Well-wishers. These posts are presented in the same format as a general post found in any feed.

About Glimmer

1. What is Glimmer?

Glimmer is a purpose-driven platform for a like-minded community of people, businesses and organisations to collaborate on social and environmental sustainability. Glimmer focuses on providing a safe online place for you to connect and share your authentic self with family and friends. Glimmer distinguishes itself by putting the experience of the well-wisher (user) first.

2. What is Glimmer’s mission?

To inspire and empower—to take better care of ourselves, each other, and the planet we live on by supporting responsible and ethical online communication and collaboration.

3. What is a well-wisher?

A well-wisher is a user of Glimmer—we believe that everyone wishes the best for the next person and by referring to a user as a well-wisher, we fundamentally encourage positive and wholesome interactions.

4. What is a ‘Glow’?

A glow is a positive reaction to a post. The well-wisher chooses the most appropriate icon to react to a post, which can be Love, Thank You, Celebrate, or Inspired.

5. How is Glimmer funded?

Glimmer provides a unique promoted service to businesses, media business, organisations, not-for-profit, governmental, non-governmental, and charity organisations that are interested in highlighting their SES activities and the positive impacts that their businesses have in society and on the environment. These posts are for information purposes only and are not targeted at any Well-wisher for commercial solicitation.

6. What is an SES Account?

An SES account is a Social and Environmental Sustainability business account with free and paid subscription options. This account is created by a Well-wisher who represents a business. The business shares information on their social and environmental sustainability activities and ongoing commitment on Glimmer. This provides a unique platform for businesses to come together and create awareness of the positive impacts of business on society and the environment.

7. What is an MediaPub Account?

A MediaPub account is a specific business account for media and publications business. This account is created by a Well-wisher who represents the business. The MediaPub account shares news updates and related latest information on social and environmental sustainability. This provides a unique platform for these business to publish credible sustainability news on a sustainability-dedicated platform.

8. Does Glimmer sell my personal information and data?

No, Glimmer does not sell any of your personal information or data from your activities, interactions, and/or interests to other business whatsoever.

9. How do I report a post?

You can easily report a post by clicking on the three dots on the right-hand side of the post that you feel is inappropriate and/or violates our Community Guidelines. Alternatively, you can contact Glimmer at support@glimmerworld.com. If you are dissatisfied with how Glimmer has handled your query, then you can contact the eSafety Commissioner via https://www.esafety.gov.au/report

10. How do I mute or delete a post?

Click on the three dots on the right-hand side of your post and select the option that applies.

11. How do I edit a post?

Click on the three dots on the right-hand side of your post and select edit. You will be taken to the Edit Post page where you can make the necessary changes and when complete, click on Post.

Navigation

1. How do I find and add a well-wisher to Glimmer?

Go to the Home page by clicking on the Home icon.
Click on the magnifying glass icon.
You will be taken to the Search page.
In the search bar, next to the magnifying glass, type in the name of the well-wisher you would like to find.
Click on the well-wisher’s name when it appears in the search results.
You will be taken to the well-wisher’s profile should it made public.
Click on Add Now to send a well-wisher request.

2. How do I create a group?

Click on your profile picture on the top right-hand side of the screen.
Scroll across Posts and Well-wishers, then select Circles.
Click on the floating Create Circle
You will be taken to the Create Circle page where you will be required to complete information on the group that you want to create.

3. How do I invite well-wishers to my group?

Click on Add Well-wishers to this Circle.
Select the Well-wishers you would like to invite to the group based on your own Well-wisher connections.
Click Done.
Click Create Circle.

4. I did not receive a verification email with a code when signing up.

Check that your email address is correctly entered into Glimmer.
Sign up again using your correct email address.

5. Where do I turn on/off my notifications?

You can access your notifications page in two ways:
1) clicking the hamburger menu in the top left corner of the homepage or ner of the homepage.

- Select the Settings option
- You will be taken to the Settings page
- Scroll down to locate the Notifications section
- Change notifications options as required.

- Click your profile picture at the top right-hand corner of the screen.
- Click on the Settings cog at the top right-hand corner of your Profile page. You will be taken to the Settings page.
- Click Notifications.
- Change notifications options as required.

6. Where is my Glimmer account settings?

Your account settings can be accessed via two options:

1) quickest way is in the hamburger menu located at the top left corner of the Homepage and

2) profile pic in the top right corner of the homepage

Option 1: Via the hamburger menu on the top-left of your homepage

Click the hamburger menu (3 horizontal stripes) in the top left corner of the homepage
Select the Settings option
You will be taken to the Settings page

Click your profile picture at the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Click on the Settings cog at the top right-hand corner of your Profile page. You will be taken to the Settings page.
Click the settings that you like to change.
Change setting options as required.

7. How do I easily invite other well-wishers outside of the Glimmer app to join the Glimmer?

Go to the Home page.
Click the hamburger menu bar at the top left-hand corner of the Homepage.
Click the Invite Well-wishers option.
Select the contact method in which you would like to send a Join request.

8. How do I change my password on Glimmer?

Click your profile picture at the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Click Edit Profile located below your profile picture.
You will be taken to the Edit Profile page.
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to locate the Change Password option.
Click on Change Password. You will be taken to the Change Password page.
Fill in your old password and then your new password.
Click submit.

Communication

9. How do I create a post on Glimmer?

Click on the button (Posts) on the bottom of the Homepage.
You will be taken to the Add Post page.
Click on Add Photo/Video.
Choose either Photo or Video.
When any of these options are selected, you will be prompted to choose the media that you want to upload from either the gallery or directly from using your camera.
Once you have selected the media you want to upload, you will be taken to the Add Post page again.
Complete your post by including a brief description of your post and any relevant hashtags
Click Post at the bottom of the screen to create a post on Glimmer.

10. How do I create a direct message (DM) on Glimmer?

Click your profile picture at the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Click Well-wishers in the pink bar. A list of all your Well-wisher connections will appear in alphabetical order.
Scroll this section to locate the Well-wisher you wish to DM.
Click the message icon to start a DM chat.

11. How do I make an app-to-app call on Glimmer?

You can make a Glimmer call in two ways: 1) easy access is via the top bar on the Homepage and 2) via your profile pic at the top right-hand corner of the Glimmer Homepage.

Option 1:

Click on the call icon located on the left-hand corner of the pink top barIn the search bar type in the name of the well-wisher you would like to call.

Option 2:

Click on your profile picture at the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Click Well-wishers in the pink bar. A list of all your well-wisher connections will appear in alphabetical order.
Scroll this section to locate the Well-wisher you wish to call.
Click the Call icon to start an app-to-app call.

12. How do I make an app-to-app video call on Glimmer?

You can make a Glimmer Video Call in two ways:

1) easy access is via the Video Call icon located of the Homepage and 2) via your profile pic at the top right-hand corner of the Glimmer Homepage.
